In accordance with state and local government guidelines for reopening resorts, Margaritaville Resort Orlando opened our doors on May 15, 2020, for all properties inclusive of Margaritaville Resort Orlando, which includes Margaritaville Hotel and Cottages. The resort’s team has been in close contact with Florida Governor DeSantis to ensure state and health regulations for reopening the many facets of the resort. Due to the progress seen with reducing the cases in Florida, as well as the health and safety regulations put in place by the CDC, Margaritaville Resort Orlando believes it is the right time to reopen.

As the resort welcomes guests back, strict protocols have been implemented to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff. The resort has also made adjustments to policies and operations in order to meet the needs of guests, owners, and visitors during this time aligning the already stringent cleaning procedures. The resort is following the latest guidance from the CDC to include increased sanitation and implementing new social distancing protocols throughout the entire destination, which has been carefully outlined with each member of the resort team. In addition, all staff will be provided appropriate personal protective equipment as needed for their job including masks and gloves.

Margaritaville Resort Orlando Reopening FAQ’s

What is being done at the resort to encourage social distancing?
At Margaritaville Resort Orlando, dining room seating has been reduced to 50% and bars will not have seating available. Restaurants will have separate tables available, while lounge seating will be removed. Hand sanitizer stations will be available for all employees and guests throughout the property. The resort is implementing a minimum of 6 feet between groups and others in all public areas. Plexiglass partitions have been installed at the front desk for guest and employee safety.
What are employees doing to ensure they are healthy and safe to work at the resort?
The resort’s team is conducting temperature checks for all employees before their shifts. Any person with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be directed to the appropriate medical facility. Every employee is required to wear a face mask and gloves. Any employee with flu-like symptoms must remain at home. Employees will be responsible for following handwashing procedures, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), and following social distancing guidelines.
COVID-19 Training and Equipment
All employees will receive comprehensive training on COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols. Appropriate PPE will be worn by all employees based on their roles and responsibilities and in adherence to state or local regulations and guidance. Training on how to properly use and dispose of all PPE will be mandatory. Every employee entering the resort will be provided a mask and required to wear that mask while on property.
Employee Hand Washing Procedures
Employees are instructed to wash hands every 60 minutes and after any of the following activities: using the restroom, sneezing, touching the face, blowing the nose, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, smoking, eating, drinking, before and after a break and each shift.
What sanitation procedures have been implemented when dining at resort restaurants?
Increased sanitation protocols, personal protective equipment (masks and gloves), single-use menus and utensils, table separation by 6 feet, hostess will manage the number of guests arriving and seat according to social distancing.
What is being done to ensure cleanliness and safety for housekeeping and room service?
At The Margaritaville Hotel, cleaning supplies will be available at the front desk for pick up. Full housekeeping services will be completed after a 3-night stay. All rooms will be deep cleaned between guests with expanded sanitation procedures. Bellhop carts will be cleansed after each use and room service is unavailable to ensure the safety of guests and staff. At the Margaritaville Cottages, for the safety of guests, only departure cleans and arrival inspections will take place. Additional cleaning detergents will be provided at no cost; amenities and linens provided as needed; full service, special, and daily cleans will be suspended.
St. Somewhere Spa, Fitness Center and Parakeets Kids’ Club

St. Somewhere Spa is slated to open on May 22, 2020, with enhanced sanitation and social distancing procedures. The spa will only be offering salon services by appointment only. Spa services will be closed until further notice.

Parakeet’s Kid’s Club is slated to open after June 1, 2020, by appointment only. The fitness center is closed until further notice.

Will the resort shuttle be available?
Yes, the shuttle will be available to transport guests to The Margaritaville Hotel, the Margaritaville Cottages, Island H2O Live! and Sunset Walk. Shuttles will be wiped down after each use and drivers will wear masks at all times.
Is Island H2O Live! Open?
Yes, the water park is open on weekends and select weekdays. Please review the water park’s operating hours and Safe-Splash Guidelines prior to your visit.
Are the tenants at Sunset Walk open for business?
In accordance with state and federal guidelines relating to COVID-19, many of the Sunset Walk merchants and venues have initiated curbside pickup and delivery options. For pickup convenience, the center has also established “Take Out Only” lanes throughout Sunset Walk. Several venues have opened for dining room and/or patio seating as well at 25% capacity.
