Does your ideal Christmas include a turntable with some Buffett tunes spinning and a palm in place of a pine? If so, we’ve put together a few quick tips and inspirational ideas to help you bring the party to the North Pole.
Set the Tone
There are a slew of tropically themed holiday songs out there, but you can’t go wrong with either of Jimmy’s two Christmas albums. Nothing beats the classics.
Set the Table
Start off your sunny soiree with a sweet and sour pineapple-glazed ham, sweet potato fritters (conch can be hard to get this time of year), and sautéed greens.
We’d recommend finishing the meal with a spirit-forward rum cake for a true taste of the Caribbean or try adding tropical instead of dried fruits to your traditional fruitcake.
You’ll need something to drink while singing the Parrot head version of “12 Days of Christmas”. So break out the hot buttered rum and of course eggnog, a holiday staple across the world made even better with Jimmy’s “Ho Ho Ho & A Bottle of Rum.” If you’re looking for something less creamy but equally festive, serve up your margarita’s with a holiday twist: break out a few champagne coupes, toss in some cranberries, and garnish with rosemary sprig.
